Indigenous Peoples’ Day is here!
Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a time to honor the strength, resilience, and contributions of Native communities. It’s a moment to reflect on the stories, traditions, and cultural heritage that have shaped our shared history. Together, we can celebrate the beauty and richness that Indigenous cultures bring to our world.
There are a couple of local events happening this week you might enjoy. The University of Kansas will raise a tipi on the Strong Hall Lawn and host a Zine-making event later in the week. Additionally, Bonner Springs, KS is celebrating with community round dances, a bison feed, and an Indigenous art market at the Wyandotte County Museum.

Talking Circle Reminder – Tomorrow!
We also want to remind you about Talking Circle tomorrow night!
🗓 When: Tuesday, October 15, 2024
📍 Where: Indian Avenue Baptist Church
⏰ Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
There are a lot of unknowns this week—we’re not entirely sure what’s for dinner, and the indoor game we’ll play might be physical or not. It’s all part of the adventure! But no matter what, it will be a meaningful time to connect, reflect, and grow together.
If you’d like to help steer what happens during Talking Circle, feel free to chat with Colin or Steven.
Can’t wait to see you there!
